Cultural Festival Day/Cultural Evening - Tuesday 28 March

Picture

Brooklyn School is having a Cultural Celebration Day and Cultural Food Fair at the end of Term
1, 2023.

We want to celebrate the diversity at our school. Throughout the term, our tamariki
will be doing lots of learning about who they are, where they come from and what culture
means to them. We are wanting to bring together our school community and involve whānau in
working together to make it happen.

On Tuesday 28th March between 5 -7 pm, we will hold an evening where the children will
share their cultural dance/music items followed by whānau buying and eating foods from
different cultures. We will start the evening with a Powhiri for new staff and tamariki.
To get started on planning this day, we are looking for volunteers to help make this cultural
food fair a success. We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to make/sell food on the
evening of our Brooklyn School Cultural Festival. You will be working alongside Jayshree Ravji
who has kindly offered to lead this group. The idea would be to get pre-orders so people
making/selling food would be aware of the quantity to produce.

There are two options:
1. Donate your food/dish to the school to be sold.
2. Make a dish with the ingredients provided.

Either way, we would love to have your cultural food represented at this fair. Thank you for
supporting our Cultural Celebration Day. Please fill in the form below to volunteer your time:
