To help your child get ready for school, there are a few things you might like to expose them to through meaningful, everyday, life experiences.
*Reading books to your child is crucial. It not only fosters a joy for literature but also develops listening skills
*Self Help Skills - Knowing how to dress and undress themselves esp: zips and buttons and shoelaces - Go to the bathroom and wash their hands independently - Tidying up after playing
*Developing fine motor and coordination skills - Building their hand muscles by providing drawing and cutting activities, playdough and threading large beads. This will make holding a pencil and writing much easier
*Recognise their name and write it
*Knowing the names of colours and basic shapes
*Counting to 10 and recognising the matching numerals
